YEOVIL ART SPACE

Lantern Parade Illustrated Leaflet

I was commissioned by Yeovil Art Space to design a promotional poster and an illustrated "How to Make a Lantern" guide for their annual Lantern Parade. Designed to accompany lantern-making kits, this guide helped participants craft their own lanterns in workshop sessions and at home, making it easy for everyone to join in the festivities.

The poster is a cheerful invitation to the Lantern Parade and Yeovil's Window Wanderland event, designed to encourage community engagement and creativity. It features playful, hand-drawn illustrations of the winter sky, glowing lanterns and a cosy house.

The step-by-step guide is an accessible, visual tutorial showing how to create a simple lantern. The illustrations use a warm color palette and depict each stage in a friendly, easy-to-follow format. Starting with a list of materials, the guide takes participants through each step of the lantern-making process, from constructing a frame with sticks to decorating with tissue paper.

Comissioned by Yeovil Art Space in partnership with @yeovilcountrypark and @loveyeovil. Supported by Somerset Council and Co-op Local Community Fund.

The Lantern Parade followed a scenic trail through the winter trees at Ninesprings Country Park, lighting up the woods at sunset. See photos of the event below.
